by @ 6:50 pm. Filed under 1908 Cubs Diary - June

June 22, 1908 at the Polo Grounds
Giants 7, Cubs 1  (32-20)

Carl Lundgren was bounced around by a tough Giants lineup as the Cubs dropped their third straight game to the Giants.  Lundgren gave up seven runs on eleven hits and three walks with two strikeouts

Johnny Evers sat this game out after he was suspended for three games after arguing with an umpire.  Catcher Johnny Kling was the hitting star in this one.  He went two for four with a double and he scored the lone Cubs run.
