Steve Dugan. Everything in your paragraph is 100% true. I feel like you know so much and all of your opinions make so much sense that you should replace Zambrano. The unsportsmanlike like conduct is so inexcusable that he should not be a ball player. I’m watching the re-clip right now and I just cannot believe it. damnit. I actually hadnt heard if they had played last night and got on here hoping to hear about another failure against the Pirates. at least i will have next monday to look forward to.

the local media is blasting the team about the losses against pittsburgh specifically.

It certainly got to that point. I can’t ever root against the Cubs, but when you lose seven games in a row to the Pirates you have a special streak going that is unlikely to be seen again anytime soon (at least I’d hope so).

I cannot believe they didn’t include one single game from the 1969 Cubs (their last great team). Who wouldn’t want to see Fergie, Kenny, Billy, Ernie, Ron, Kessinger & Beckert and The Reb. I was hoping to buy this collection, but won’t now since there are no games from that season. I went to every single home game that year, can still remember when they blew it in September…honestly I don’t think I ever forgave them for that, it still hurts!!!

Two questions:

First, how do you address the arguement that Santo benefitted from hitter friendly Wirgley to the extent that his road stats aren’t that much better than many from his era? Next, basbeball-reference lists the hitters comparable to Santo and NONE of them are in the Hall. Dale Murphy is the closest hitter in terms of stats, and has about the same number of Gold Gloves for instance, and he isn’t in HOF.

Prior will be a key guy in the rotation if he can stay healthy. The Cubs should’ve signed Lilly or Marquis to one-year deal. I’m not sure what management was thinking.
