Reds 4, Cubs 1 (35-21)
The Cubs managed just a run on four hits as their three game winning streak came to an end as the offense fizzled. Frank Chance had two of those four hits and Frank Schulte scored the lone run without getting a hit.
Carl Lundgren took the loss and he was tagged for three runs in the fifth inning. Ed Reulbach came in and pitched the final four innings and he gave up another run.
