Reds 4, Cubs 2 (37-23)
The Cubs fell from the top spot in the National League as they dropped their second straight game to the Reds. The offense really sputtered and they were held to two runs on just four singles. Jimmy Slagle reached base three times with a single and two walks and he scored one of the Cubs two runs.
Chick Fraser took the loss with a rough outing. He gave up four runs on eleven hits.
