The Cubs snapped their three game losing streak behind a solid start by Ed Reulbach. He gave up just one run on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts.
Del Howard was the lone Cub with two hits and he led off the tenth inning with a single. He was forced out at second base and Frank Chance flyed out but Frank Schulte scored when he tried to steal second base and the ball went into the outfield, he scored the game winning run.
